Richard Feynman's nature was a mix of curiosity and enthusiasm with sharp intellect that finally led to a career as a theoretical physicist. He was involved in science at critical times and helped to pioneer some of the bigger scientific advances in quantum mechanics and quantum electrodynamics. One of his contributions to the science community was the creation of diagrams that could help to visualize, explain, and calculate complex formulas (later known as Feynmen diagrams).

He maintained an independent and down-to-earth attitude and a sense of fun and humour, which gave him the ability to communicate with anyone and spark interest in complex subjects by introducing them in a logical and easy way. He wrote books and gave lectures to encourage interest in physics at many levels. He received a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1965, but he was not a fan of awards and prizes claiming that finding the answer to a particular problem was the only reward he really wanted.

Richard Feynman also had an interest in life away from his subject. He disliked authority, liked practical jokes, enjoyed safecracking, played the bongos, became an artist, and developed a project about visiting the obscure destination of Tuva in central Asia. He also became interested in biology, nanotechnology, and supercomputing.

Richard Feynman died in 1988 aged 69. Before he died, he spoke about not being completely gone. His was right in that his name is still very much associated with his subject, and many of his interviews and lectures are available online. There is also an official website maintained by CMG Worldwide and his estate featuring full lists of scientific works, books, lectures, audio, and video.
